Join Dr. Chace to learn more about spending winter break in the Amazon aboard Motor Yacht Tucano. The program offers students the opportunity to study first-hand the evolutionary ecology of plant and animal taxa in tropical forest ecosystems while completing a 1 credit Natural Science lab. Students will explore the ecological dynamics of diverse tropical habitats as well as the human dimensions of tropical systems and principles of conservation biology. 

This program is a private charter hosted by Ecotour Expeditions/Nature Tours. The expedition cruise begins in Manaus, Brazil and over six full days and nights the Motor Yacht Tucano navigates far upstream on the Rio Negro . The Amazon voyage on the M/Y Tucano is active. With naturalist guides, students will get out into the forest and explore . There are daily walks in the forest and students will also have the chance to explore in the small streams that wind their way through into the uninhabited interior.
