Patrick J.F. McKay, executive producer and co-showrunner of Amazon Studios’ award-winning original series, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is coming to Salve October 7 for a special event. 

Salve students, faculty and staff will be treated to a screening of the Season 2 finale followed by a Q&A with McKay moderated by Dr. D. Matthew Ramsey, professor of English, Communications and Media. They will explore the second season of the show, which McKay notes is “grounded, gritter, more dramatic, and very emotional,” and McKay will share insights and experiences from his career.

McKay, a native of Rhode Island and Virginia, has been writing for film and television for nearly 15 years. In that time, he and his long-term co-writer J.D. Payne have collaborated on more than 20 screenplays, including work on Star Trek Beyond for producer J.J. Abrams, Jungle Cruise for Walt Disney Studios, and their original script Escape.

Pizza to be served in the lobby at 5:30 p.m. with the screening scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m.  Space is limited and registration is required to get this special peek behind the scenes.
