About this Event

Our preservation scholar lecture series bring in scholars from across the preservation fields of archaeology, architectural history, museum studies, art history, and historic restoration. Our scholars will talk about their journey within the preservation discipline, and detail their ongoing research in the field followed by a Q&A session. Our first speaker is Dr. Madeline MackieĀ archaeologist and Assistant Professor at Michigan State University whose research focuses on understanding the lives of the early inhabitants of Western North America, particularly the people who called this region home during the end of the last Ice Age. Her research is interested in human-environment interaction and is particularly focused on food systems and large game hunting. She uses a variety of methods to approach this research including intra-site spatial distributions, quantitative analysis, and boots-on-the-ground fieldwork.
