The world has been captivated by the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its ability to produce human-sounding language, create immersive deepfake videos that seem real in every respect, or combine all three into some techno-fantasy world. With less than a year to go before Election Day 2024, the onslaught of AI and the potential for disruptive disinformation is unprecedented. In this roundtable we’ll take a look at recent examples of disinformation, the power of deepfakes, and discuss what we all can do as citizens to protect the information ecosystem as we head into the election.
