2026 marks the 5th year of hosting the RI Out of the Darkness Walk on our campus, and we invite you to join the Salve Regina University Walk Team - Seahawks for Hope!

Out of the Darkness Walks support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) by raising essential funds for suicide‑prevention research, education, advocacy, and loss‑survivor support. These walks also create visible, stigma‑reducing community spaces that connect people, elevate hope, and strengthen AFSP’s ability to provide trainings, resources, and healing programs year‑round.

Seahawks for Hope will walk to honor those we have lost to suicide, support loss-survivors, support those who struggle with mental health challenges, and reflect our shared belief, rooted in Salve’s Mercy mission, that caring for one another is a collective responsibility - and that no one walks alone.

All students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, friends, and community partners are invited to support this effort by choosing one (or more) meaningful ways to get involved:
