From Lab to Law: Gendered Bodies, Knowledge, and Public Debate brings together an interdisciplinary panel of faculty to consider the complex relationship between science, gender, and governance. Panel members include Dr. Victoria Gonzalez, Dr. Belinda Barbagallo, Dr. Mary Anderson, Dr. Esther Alarcon Arana, Dr. Katie Brennan, and Dr. Emily Colbert Cairns. This event invites the campus community into a collective academic conversation about how gendered norms, exclusions, and assumptions are created, justified, and contested across different domains of knowledge and power. Through dialogue across disciplines—including the sciences, social sciences, and humanities—this panel aims to deepen our shared understanding of the stakes of current gender debates and to model the role of higher education in fostering critical, respectful, and evidence-informed discussion.
