Humanities Ph.D. student, Victoria Cuartas, will defend her dissertation on "The Sociological Phenomena of the Female Performance: Exploring Femininity in the Photographs of Diane Arbus".  Cuartas' research presents key findings which provide a wider scope of literature and alleviate common misunderstandings of Arbus, the photographer.  Additionally, Cuartas will connect Arbus' photography to the themes of humanity and technology.
