Step right up! Step right up! Experience Salve Regina University’s original Social Media Play where the twists and turns of an old-fashioned carnival mingle with the dark sides of social media. This production is the result of a year-long research project by the Theatre and Community Engagement and Documentary Theater courses wherein students gathered true stories about the impact of social media on people on Salve's campus and college campuses around the country.  Our immersive show captures  the circus that is social media through the lens of a historic-based carnival. In this immersive production we invite the audience to walk through and experience all of the side shows and attractions of our social media carnival. There will be seating if necessary but for the best experience possible the audience will follow their assigned pathway leader throughout the space. 

This show runs twice an evening and offers three different pathways to experience the impact of social media on college campus individuals. Audience members may choose to follow a specific pathway which starts at a specific entry time, or they may choose the specific time they wish to enter, which will correspond to an individual in campus life. These pathways are as follows: Pick a time or a pathway and get ready for the ride! All entries are free. 

There will be moments in the show where audience participation is invited. The show will run approximately an hour and then afterward you are invited to the humanity room for a, well, human engagement. As a friendly reminder, carnivals of this time did not use much technology, so do not be surprised if our carneys are wary of your devices and store them away for the extent of the show.
